ABOUT THE PROJECT

The East Kensington Neighbors Association (EKNA) and Mural Arts Philadelphia, in partnership with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, are collaborating on a new community mural project for the Hagert Street Playground. Philadelphia artist Serena Saunders was selected by the community to create a design that reflects the playground’s close proximity to the El train and incorporates interactive opportunities for the young children and families that spend time there. [Yes, this means chalkboard paint!]
